The US Government just transferred 29,800 BTC ($2B) to 2 new wallets bc1qn and bc1ql:

• This address belongs to the entity US Government
• new address 1: bc1qngydl7hmgdtmuqjmtsyj3pcwszv0yn5mj6kz4c
• new address 2: bc1qlap8hkt9genaljz5nt2zlehhudx63zlahr2zek

We suspect the new addresses may belong to Coinbase and the transfers above may link to the recent announcement from Coinbase that the US government has chosen them for custody (more details here).

In the past months, the US government has also moved BTC to the new address but with much lower values.

Currently, there are 183.4K BTC ($12.31B) in the entity US government.
