Whale 0xeab (suspected to be Continue Fund) just lost 15,079 fwDETH ($35.98M) due to a phishing attack 6.5 hours ago:
- transaction: 0x80bbc39dd5c62b5368e1bf10d40969f5da8b45555de6bfbbcfe5b84591e3648d
- whale's address: 0xeab23c1e3776fad145e2e3dc56bcf739f6e0a393
- hacker's address 1: 0x0605eDeE6a8b8b553caE09Abe83b2ebeb75516eC
- hacker's address 2: 0xA963df55B326609a0cd205e85ca92d2a3c94DaB5
Notably:
- DETH is acquired by depositing ETH on the Duo Exchange at a 1:1 ratio. With no redemption available, the hacker dumped all the stolen DETH for ETH on a DEX. However, due to the lack of liquidity in the DETH pool, 14,079 DETH was exchanged for only 2,288 ETH. As a result, the value of the stolen assets plummeted by 85%, from $35.98M to $5.5M.
- The whale fell victim to a hack after signing a "permit" phishing signature. To avoid such phishing attempts, never click on unknown links or sign unfamiliar signatures. Always double-check before approving any signatures.
